Basic crochet stitches

These are the must know stitches that you will need to learn as they appear in almost all patterns. Once you master these you can create anything!

It is important to note that these tutorials are all in US crochet terms and demonstrated in my tutorials with my right hand.

Amigurumi creates stitches in continuous rounds to make a sphere shape. An example would be when crocheting a head, body, leg or arm.

A lot of crochet patterns like scarves, headbands, cardigans all start with a foundation chain stitch. It forms the foundation for the rest of your project to be built upon. Each set of stitches that you will crochet forms a row.
